TEL-AVIV ATRACTIONS

Make your way

Seven options to make your way in Tel Aviv

  1. By car – if you'd ask a tel aviv resident what's the one thing he doesn't like in this city (well, actually we did ask..) – you are almost guaranteed to get the same answer "parking". Tel Aviv not only has weird street parking regulations, it doesn't have much parking spaces to begin with.. if you still insist on taking your car – you can either park on the street and pay, remember watch out for those traffic inspectors (Please let us know when you find parking and where) or in organized parking lots – there are quite enough in the central areas.
  2. By Sherut taxis – the Sherut taxi is mini-van taxi which runs in certain routs in the city (just like a bus), but with no fixed stops, you just flag them. You can take the number 5 taxi which runs just like the num 5 bus, on dizengoff south (but it does not reach the train station), line 4 (on ben yehuda south), or the 66 line. Lines 4 and 5 runs until 1 AM weekdays and in 2 AM on weekends. Fair is 5 NIS per ride.
  3. By "Special" taxi – this is the "normal" taxi – you can either find on the street or call a taxi station.
  4. By Bus – the main local bus company is Dan and it goes all through the city – east to west, north to south. Another company is Kavim. Buses do not operate Friday nights and Saturday's – until 8 PM.
  5. By bicycle – Tel Aviv is the perfect city for taking your bicycle for a ride since it is mostly plateau and the center isn't so big. Currently there are bicycle lanes in Nordau Ave, Ben Gurion Ave, Bnei Zion Ave, Rotchild Ave, the promenade and soon to be also in Ibn Gvirol. You will find iron stands throughout the city to which you can attach your bicycles when resting in a Café or checking out stores.
  6. By scooter – another trademark of Tel Aviv is the massive amount of scooters- you will find them on crosswalks, on the sidewalks and sometimes on the road itself... you can rent a scooter for a day and experience the city from the scooter's point of view. In order to rent a scooter you must have a suitable international (or local) driving license. When riding a scooter you must wear a helmet and in order to take someone with you you must be more then 18 years old.
  7. By Foot – the weather is almost always great, so why don't you just put on comfortable shoes and start walking…??
